Balanced Budget Amendment
Americans for a Balanced Budget Amendment is a non-partisan grassroots organization dedicated to passing an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would address the urgent need to stop the federal government’s massive and totally unsustainable deficit spending.
The current national debt is over $12 trillion and growing at an alarming rate. The Obama Administration is already predicting adding at least $9 trillion in new debt over the next ten years. In 2008 the US government spent over $400 billion on interest alone – nearly 10 times the amount spent on the Department of Homeland Security.
